I have to admit, albeit grudgingly that all best laid plans can go horribly wrong.
Everything that can go wrong, did go wrong.
And I would have crumbled to little pieces and been fed to the printing machines' cavernous stomachs if I had to go through it all alone.

Ironic though it may seem, the day started off with a very good morning.

F made an interesting observation, which made me realise that I'm a grey person. When asked a yes or no question, I would stall for time.
I dunno if that's necessarily a bad thing but I remember jeepee lessons squashing the yes and no out of one's system. In a world where there is no one definite answer, how could you answer yes or no to any particular question?
But he believes that it's not the situation nor the question that affects your answer but rather, the person itself. I.e. your personality.

Here's something worth knowing.
But everyone is entitled to their opinion and I definitely have no right to deem a certain personality cult wrongful or unacceptable because religion belongs to God.
There is a certain number of people who believe that Shi'ites aren't Muslim. And honestly, I believed so too. A number of history books I've read described the rise of the Shi'ites as a form of rebellion to overthrow the Islamic rule of Uthman R. A. by idolising Ali R.A. as they believed that he should be the rightful Caliph considering his relations with the Prophet pbuh.
However, I realised that fundamentally, they still hold strongly to the 5 pillars of Islam and still believe in the One God and his prophet. Thus with the exception of certain extreme cases whereby they refute the existence of the prophet or where they raise Ali's status and worships him more than the prophet, (certain sects in Shiite Muslims apparently do), only then would they be considered non-muslim.
I realised that I had wrongfully believed an U's opinion wholeheartedly but his opinion bordered on the extreme. Thus, I did a teeny bit of research and came across this fatwa which was released in 1959 and still holds true today.

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE BENEFICENT, THE MERCIFUL Text of the Verdict (Fatwa) Issued by His Excellency Shaikh al-Akbar Mahmood Shaltoot, Head of the al-Azhar University, on Permissibility of Following "al-Shia al-Imamiyyah" School of Thought
His Excellency was asked:
Some believe that, for a Muslim to have religiously correct worship and dealing, it is necessary to follow one of the four known schools of thought, whereas, "al-Shia al-Imamiyyah" school of thought is not one of them nor "al-Shia al-Zaidiyyah." Do your Excellency agree with this opinion, and prohibit following "al-Shia al-Imamiyyah al-Ithna Ashariyyah" school of thought, for example?
His Excellency replied:
1) Islam does not require a Muslim to follow a particular Madh'hab (school of thought). Rather, we say: every Muslim has the right to follow one of the schools of thought which has been correctly narrated and its verdicts have been compiled in its books. And, everyone who is following such Madhahib [schools of thought] can transfer to another school, and there shall be no crime on him for doing so.
2) The Ja'fari school of thought, which is also known as "al-Shia al- Imamiyyah al-Ithna Ashariyyah" (i.e., The Twelver Imami Shi'ites) is a school of thought that is religiously correct to follow in worship as are other Sunni schools of thought. Muslims must know this, and ought to refrain from unjust prejudice to any particular school of thought, since the religion of Allah and His Divine Law (Shari'ah) was never restricted to a particular school of thought. Their jurists (Mujtahidoon) are accepted by Almighty Allah, and it is permissible to the "non-Mujtahid" to follow them and to accord with their teaching whether in worship (Ibadaat) or transactions (Mu'amilaat).

However, you should by no means accept what I'm saying as the complete and ultimate truth (like I did the U) and do your own research. Shaikh Mahmood Shaltoot just happens to be one guy. And there are millions of other clerics with opinions other than this.

I say stop playing the race card!
We've been working on a certain project that supposedly instills a form of nationalistic pride in the nation. Somehow, 5 stars became a symbol of the unity of the different races and yada yada yada. True, the flag's stars symbolize an entirely different meaning but for these logos, they've been used often to depict the 5 races in the country; the C, M, I, O and the government. This is my totally whacked out point of view, by the way.
But see. Isn't it interesting because when you stop and think, the fact that there are 5 different entities show that we are indeed NOT united.
A symbol of unity would be, like, this.
A big, fat dot because the 5 entities have merged and become one nationalistic body.
Really. Why does it matter? We're as different as leaves in the same tree.
Would you say, oh, "I'm a leaf from the upper part of the mango tree".
And then Xyz comes a long from the lower strata of the mango tree and hey, he's a different colour! He has 10% more cyan in his colouring!
It makes no sense!
It's still the same mango tree!
