bang;
BANG;
boom;
Not all murders have a motive
This one certainly didn't
We've reached the end of the road
Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for the ride

today is tuesday,
the girl went to the library today, for cip. cip is a community involvement programme that aims to force youth into doing community service. but no matter, if there is one thing the girl has learnt this year, is that community service gives her a sense of fulfillment. in a way, she is giving back to society what society has given to her. as in the case of library duty, she felt that what with the countless number of books she has borrowed from the library. the privilege of being able to read books without paying a single cent for it. that by itself is worth paying back for. she felt that with every book that she put in place today, every shelf she straightened, she is repaying the librarians' work shelving the thousands of books she has borrowed and sometimes browsed, without bothering to put it back in place, shove it aside.
she has learnt to be more respectful of librarians and promises not to glare at librarians who would not push their trolleys out of the way of people. because she realised, she did not give a shit about the kids who were trying to look at the books she was sorting out. she glared at them even. she was thinking, is this how irritating i am to the librarians. its funny how a role reversal can do wonders to change attitudes. when one understands the situation, one is in a better position to judge. or rather, to not judge at all.

today is saturday,
while the girl was having lunch, the telephone rang.. it was her sister. she had 2 free tickets to catch pck the musical and she did not want to go. sad to say, everyone in her family hated pck. the government's efforts to make the detestable yellow-booted human a singapore icon is failing miserably. according to the girl, it was superbly lame with a plot as thin as a tracing paper. she couldnt help feeling bored throughout the whole show. the only thing that seemed to catch her attention was the presence of an orchestra behind the screen. and the lights, of course. other than that, the show, she claimed, was the very definition of drab. and after the whole show, her friend, farhana, kept singing the ultra lame song that the villain in the movie sang.. it goes something like, " i'm a CONtractor. u'll be conned for sure." darn, she was so sick of that. thank goodness the tix were free. she hopes no one is as stupid as to actually pay for tickets to a flop like that. proably, if you're a big fan of lame plots, u might consider it.
note to civilisation: avoid embarrassment, disallow undeserving individuals from being made as our icons

today is wednesday,
the girl has almost forgotten all the days of the week, a common feature of holidayitis. she woke up early this morning, with every intention to go running. but just when she reached the road, it started to rain.. darn.. she refused to be defeated, she ran under the shade, went 4 rounds. she knew it was far from enough but well, she has to take it slow.. her stupid ankle giving her trouble again.
she is a very stubborn girl.. despite her ankle hurting, she went ice-skating on monday, cycling on tuesday and running today. she's even psycho-ed herself into believing that her ankle is better. her mum has warned her so many times. and she even has to wear an ankle guard most of the time. she should stop doing this to herself.
the stupid neighbour of hers renovating his flat upstairs. its driving her crazy. waking up to the sound of drills right on her bedroom ceiling. she tries to block it out. she is still trying...
she really needs to start serious studying. will someone please tell her that??!!

I'm the king of the valley
i live in a red brick castle
on top of a green grassy hill
that overlooks the great, big river
with waters calm and always still
the villager in the town below
they all look up to me
king of the Valley, i am
with great respect, they treat me
each morning, when i awake,
there are two attendants awaiting
one with a towel, the other, a robe
they smile and greet, 'good morning'
as the king i must ensure
a disciplined schedule, i follow
exercise, breakfast, to work, then, lunch
a walk when the sky is yellow
on weekends, i walk to the village
to see my people, their kids at play
my head held high, i walked on by
I am the KING! bow low as they may.
being a king is very tiring
with endless work and stiff high collars
but beloved kingdom, i'll never leave
not even for a gazillion dollars
