I was supposed to meet Mas at 3.15 at Bishan MRT.
When suddenly, at about 3.17, heavy rain came thrashing down on tiny Singapore.
It seemed as if a whole bucket of water had been emptied.
Mas arrived about 15 minutes late, soaked to the bone, having intelligently ignored my advice about taking a bus.
We went to CS and had Haagen Dazs Chocolate Fondue!
It was out of this world!
From the chocolates, to the ice-cream, it was heavenly.
Well, except for just a little minor detail; the price.
The price was so astronomical that it blew a huge gaping hole in our pockets.
The people walking past all stared at us, apalled, probably, at how uncivilised we were.
To hell with table etiquettes, we were far more interested in wiping the bowls of chocolate clean.
x)
Later in the evening, we watched The Lake House with Mas's mum and sister.
Her sister fell asleep halfway through the movie and the rest of us kept yawning.
I think you can probably infer from the above sentence how the movie was like.
All that hype about The Lake House was probably just a publicity stunt.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie.
(Ignoring the fact that I loved every movie I watched in the cinema.)
It was full of heart-rending moments, only, they seem to drag on for eternity.
Logical or no, the ending was, I believe, the climax of the story.
My Friday this week would have been perfect if not for a minor detail,
Gaaahh! My legs!
I am scratching like a monkey.
Scratch scratch scratch.
I've got red marks all over my legs.
And they sting when in contact with water.
Damn mozzies.

I just could not raise my hands enough to scrub my hair thoroughly when I shampooed it this evening.
I merely just lathered with about a drop of shampoo and rinsed it.
Too bad if it smells a little funky tomorrow.
I just could not manage with my heavy hands.
Really! They weigh a ton!
Stupid certain person who made the rule that girls have to carry the same weight as guys.
I'd be lucky if my arm doesn't end up like someone's if I'm subjected to this torture weekly.
Speaking of torture, we got scolded just now for being "JC students without common sense."
It was, as usual, scorching hot.
Even as we sat in the shade we could feel the heat coming to us in waves.
We had totally forgot that last week, Mr. Lee had told us that subsequent lessons, we are to meet him outside the gym.
He came down to the track with a black face.
And said, in a booming loud voice that just makes one's heart palpitate in anxiety and fear,
"You want to run in the hot sun?! I let you run in the hot sun! Everyone go down to the track, 1st lane, in 2 rows, warm up 2 rounds now!"
We could barely open our eyes for the blinding rays of the sun
But amazingly, about 50 metres into the run, the sky changed almost instantaneously.
Dark clouds suddenly gathered and strong gusts of wind started to impede our running momentum.
Air resistance or no, I was elated with the sudden change in weather.
Although, I bet he was a little disappointed that his plan to torture us had been obstructed by orders from up above. x)
After that, I did 20 IPU, which, I find, is no biggie.
But then, he asked me to 'join the guys' doing bicep curls.
I tested the bar and heaved it up.
A string of profanities followed immediately.
I struggled and shook visibly as I desperately tried to raise it to my chin.
Maybe it was the absurdity of the situation, or maybe, it was just an adrenaline kind of high but I simply could not stop laughing as I did my first set of 10.
It was hilarious to see my arms shake like so even with Kam Fung's assistance!
And Mr. Lee just had to rub it in.
Seeing my obvious distress at not being able to carry the weight, he commented, "Wah, so weak ah!"
I just persevered on with teeth-clenching determination (overlooking the fact that most of the time, KF more than half-lifted it for me).
With a lot of help, I managed to complete the 4 sets of 10 bicep curls and the reverse curls.
Thus explaining why I am unable to raise my arm at the moment.
It feels rock hard when I bend it.
Hahah.
I'm turning into superwoman!
Stay tuned.
=D

I love Schumann.
Need I explain? x)
It's a complicated love affair.
Damn, I'm in love with someone from the 17th century!
I finally figured out that Tchaikovsky is a little too gay for me.
>5:06 PM
Isn't it annoying why people can be so last-minute at times?
I sms-ed them a gazillion times
and of course, they did not say anything.
Until the last minute.
That's it.
That is the last time I am ever going to organize anything for people who don't freaking care.
At least, I didn't spoil the whole Friday.
I managed to catch Pirates of the Carribean 2 with Shirin!
It was a fairly lengthy movie.
But definitely good.
Although, Shirin and I could practically feel the popcorn rising up to our throats at the sight of all the slimy gooeyness of certain characters in the movie.
And there was a point of time when I felt sea-sick but I refrained from throwing up in the empty popcorn box.
Later at night, I was half-sleeping, half-reading when I found the answer.
Somehow, it seems like I heard this loud booming voice that reverberated in the empty space where my grey matter is supposed to be.
It was loud and clear,
"Intuition"
I have no idea what it's supposed to mean, actually.
And I do hope it's not saying that I'm schizophrenic, hearing voices in my head.
I have been asking myself.
How do I know?
Apparently, my intuition will lead me.

Today was supposed to be Racial Harmony Day.
Everyone was encouraged to don ethnic costumes.
But I didn't, of course.
It is a Thursday !
I have P.E. on Thursdays !
Somehow, my Thursdays are always spoiled by the thought of the imminent P.E. lesson.
My stomach seems to break down into butterflies, trying to fly their way out through my throat.
Really!
I wouldn't call it fear but just plain nervousness.
I know I won't die from just running but that thought doesn't exactly help much.
As the 'bell' beeped thrice to signal the end of lesson/start of P.E,
we all dragged out feet hesitatingly towards the track.
The sun was baking the track till it turned red-hot!
(Well, it was red to begin with. xD)
I was pleading with Mr. Lee in my mind,
"No, please, have mercy on us! The track is going to burn us alive!"
Baaahh.
Doesn't stop him from meting out the inevitable punishment;
"Slow jog, Lane 8, 2 rounds as warm-up."
Just a hundred metres into the run,
I could practically feel the skin on my face turn a dark brown.
Thankfully, Mr Lee has a heart after all.
Seeing us suffer in the sun, he allowed us to run in the shade.
Only that, we'd have to run more rounds. Without stopping.
Only god knows, that was the first time in my life I ever ran about 3.6km without stopping.
And it did have rather horrible after-effects too.
My head throbbed as though I had a G-clamp fixed tight on my the sides of my head.
And my knees!
Oh god, have mercy on the knees, man!
Every step is taken with a silent hiss and the gritting of teeth.
Damn, my poor molars.
I also found out something sad today.
Today is Heng Hong's last day.
Damn it, our PW group have come to rely a lot on him.
I guess now, it's up to me. And Joanne.
To pull the rest together.
He will be missed.
You know what they say about not appreciating people until you lose them?
I guess this applies.
I just hope he will be happy in whatever path he has chosen for himself.
Happier than me, at least.

I took 24 a total of 4 times today.
Yes, in just one day.
Firstly, I went for the much-needed math tuition.
Last-minute cramming for Graphing OBT is better than no cramming at all.
xD
And then, it's back to school with another RHD meeting.
I'm getting annoyed with a certain someone.
I'm not trying to be mean but really...
Firstly, I am a Malay!
I know my own culture better than you !
Secondly, I have always had the gut feeling that I'm born to work 'backstage'.
And I have absolute faith that Izeen will do a better job than me.
Mas was running as I talked to her on the phone.
I caught her in a bad time, I guess. xD
It didn't help my hearing that her team-mates were being so noisy,
thinking that she was talking to a boyfriend.
Hahah, right.
The pizza I had for dinner cheered me up loads.
The wonder that junk food does to one's mood. xD
I'm just thinking.
I think I give up.
It's time I forgot about you and moved on.

My computer got resurrected for all of 10 minutes.
And then, amazingly intelligent Mae decided to overload it.
By sending 8 songs at once. -.-
Fabulous.
Obviously, it crashed, AGAIN.
And all my hopes with it.
Damn.
I should learn to be less dependent on technology.
Ah well.
I'm lucky I still have a working laptop.

When I place my palm flat on the tabletop, I can't even lift my fingers smoothly.
They're trembling badly.
From lack of glucose, I suppose.
I did not intentionally starve myself, I assure you that.
And all those crap nutritionists like to say about breakfast being the most important meal in a day, are actually true.
Somehow, when I skip breakfast, I lose my appetite for the rest of the day.
and that's bad, really.
What's more, I had to sacrifice my precious break time to complete the RHD exhibition.
And even then, nothing much was accomplished.
I couldn't possibly do the whole thing myself, see?
As much as I want to believe so,
I'm no wonderwoman.
It was turning out to be a really bad day after break.
Mainly, because I found out that Math class has been shifted back to the old classroom with the smart board and that somehow, all the non-H2 econs people had no frikking idea about it.
Of course, I was late for class.
The teacher said nothing but inside, I was enraged.
Out of all the things in the world, don't mess with me about punctuality.
Really.
I did not pay much attention during math.
I was busy thinking about how the board was going to turn out.
And plus, I couldn't understand anything she said, anyway.
After math, I dragged Ain to the library to help me with the board.
And man, was I glad I did too.
No way could I have ever pulled it off by myself.
And later, Christine came to help too.
She showed us that, WOW, the board could be detached!
(Yes, Ain and I are rather blur =D )
I can always trust Christine to come up with a totally amazing layout for anything.
In the end, the board looked pretty nice too.
Even the librarian said so. xD
I am so touched that Ain and Christine actually helped me out when it was really my own responsibility.
Assures me that not everyone are self-centred jerkasses.
xD
Oh, and I have changed my opinion of the librarian, the long-haired one, not the step-mother xD
She really is quite nice.
She is, afterall just yearning for someone to talk to
And I'm not surprised since she works with the stepmother whose favourite word is "SShhhhh!"
Somehow, I'm proud that I managed to finish the board
and still go for my lunch date with Shirin.
(overlooking the fact that I came an hour late, of course)
Lunch with Shirin was great.
Of course, how can it not be?
This is Shirin we're talking about!
The Queen of Lameness!
xD
At least, today, I will go to bed happy.
Can almost see the huge red flashing letters in my mind;
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

They say bad things always happen in threes.
And we used to say that Thurdays are evil.
No matter how many stories I've heard or witnessed about the above 2 propositions,
I had remained unconvinced.
Until it happened to me.
I woke up feeling happy.
The week-end is coming, afterall .
As I was ironing my shirt, a sharp pain suddenly struck my stomach.
I almost dropped the hot iron on my feet.
I was bent double as I ran to the bathroom as the pain was of such magnitude that it did not allow me to stand upright.
I was thinking of what I had eaten the previous night.
But I remembered specifically that I had skipped dinner after having spoiled my appetite with a sweet.
And then it hit me...
CRAMPS ! With a big huge C.
I muttered a string of profanities as I rushed to the bathroom three more times, in between trying to pack my bag and tie my hair.
I finally managed to drag myself out the front door at 6.25 and yes, that is late.
Thank god I managed to run fast enough to catch the 6.30 bus.
But, as it is a Thursday, obviously I wasn't going to have it easy.
The bus was frikking crowded and all my hopes of getting a seat dissipated with every stop.
With the cramps still throwing tantrums at me, I resigned myself to standing till my toes turn numb.
45 minutes seem like eternity in a crowded bus.
As if things weren't bad enough, I had P.E. at the end of the day.
Thoughts, Bad thoughts, ran through my mind like wildfire, burning all other happy thoughts with it.
I made up a dozen excuses to tell the teacher that I couldn't run today.
I even thought about faking the stomach cramps that by then, were already gone.
Ahh well, I'm just too honest for my own good.
At least, I survived.
I got through an evil Thursday!
Haha! The world shall rejoice!

I've always had a fear of pain .
In other words, I have a fear of death .
Seriously, tell me who in the world doesn't and I'll personally teach that person what death feels like .
A colleague of my mother's just passed away .
From just slipping on a smooth surface .
She drew her last breath at the school porch, surrounded, not by family members but by colleagues and friends .
Death can come anytime .
Are you prepared ?

I found out something in the past week.
Mao was not a great leader.
In fact, he was one egotistical, self-centred, impractical person .
Not the astute politician history made him up to be .
He invented policies as he liked .
No visionary foresight or whatever they said he had .
He took advantage of the success of the economic policies that Deng and Liu had set up and turned it against them .
And then, he invented the Cultural Revolution where intellectuals were purged and all his political enemies were exiled .
He had absolute power over the people because of the fabricated media and propaganda .
He made them believe that it's wrong to have individual opinions.
Everything has to be communal . Even what they think, what they wear, how they bathe, how they eat .
Everything had its standard procedure .
I say, I can never be a communist .
I'm too much of a non-comformist, I'll be shot in the head when I step out my door .
Sure, democracy has a degree of injustice linked to the way it works but I would never want to swap it for total equality .
Besides, as they say, communism is an ideal .
For people taking History or just interested in China's history,
I would strongly recommend reading "Wild Swans" by Jung Chang .
She writes about China's road to communism and the pros and cons of the system .
Eye-opening, I must say .

And so, Chemistry ended the MYEs with a bang .
A big, huge, loud bang that shook the entire universe .
Somehow, I was the only one who felt it .
Chemistry was relatively easy as compared to the killer Math and Physics .
Even I could have scored if I had put in the slightest bit more effort in listening to the old hag nagging .
The only difficulty I faced when doing the paper was tolerating the invigilator's lisp .
I would have grit my teeth to the gums if I hadn't learned selective hearing .
And horror of all horrors !
She is to be our one and only Chemistry tutor for this semester !
God save us all .
I thought she was far more suited to be a Chinese teacher .
She spoke English with a rather distinctive Chinese twang .
But well, people are not always what they seem .
For the first time in weeks, today, I caught a glimpse of the Corruptor !
And damn was I glad to see that History hasn't killed her yet .
Ah well, maybe History has yet to reveal its greater plans for her . =)
